Wish There Was Another Way

I first got my period when I was 10 and started the birth control pill at 14 to help with the debilitating cramps that I would get every month. I’ve tried going off of BCPs [birth control pills] a few times, but would always go back to help with the pain and illness I experience throughout my period. On BCPs I find my weight fluctuates, my mood is a bit less predictable, and I tend to bleed often between periods. Most recently, one of my doctors told me I might suffer from Poly Cystic Ovary Syndrome but they are unable to test for it while on BC. I don’t want to go off of it, but I do wish there was another way to regulate my period and pain without having to take a hormonal pill every day.
